The ANMF (SA Branch) wants to reward two emerging or established leaders who are focused on meaningful change across the nursing and midwifery workforce.

Applications for the Dr Joan Durdin Scholarship are now open with two $10,000 scholarships on offer.

“The ANMF (SA Branch) is committed to fostering and supporting leaders within the nursing and midwifery profession and we believe these scholarships will provide the catalyst for some of our members to take their skills and experience to the next level,” ANMF (SA Branch) CEO/Secretary Adj Associate Professor Elizabeth Dabars AM said.

“In order to be considered, applicants must be a financial member of the ANMF (SA Branch) for a minimum of 12 months at the time of application and have a minimum of three years’ experience relevant to their current role.”

To apply for a scholarship, members must write a 500-word statement detailing their careers, their interest in leadership, and how the grant will help them achieve their goals.

The scholarships have been named after Dr Joan Durdin. The 100-year-old has been an inspirational nurse throughout and beyond her extensive career in nursing, midwifery, and nurse education.

Applications will close at COB 31 March 2023 and interviews with applicants will occur during April 2023.

Successful applicants will be announced on International Nurses Day on May 12.
