Member feedback sought on the draft Voluntary Assisted Dying Policy

6 December 2022

ANMF (SA Branch) have been invited to provide feedback on the draft SA Health Voluntary Assisted Dying Policy.

The SA Health Voluntary Assisted Dying Policy has been developed to outline the requirements for SA Health to appropriately, safely and effectively comply with the Voluntary Assisted Dying Act 2021.  Voluntary assisted dying will be available to eligible South Australians from 31 January 2023.

The policy has been developed in collaboration with members of the Voluntary Assisted Dying Implementation Taskforce and Care Pathways Working Group.

The policy will apply to all employees, volunteers and contracted staff of SA Health.  This includes all employees and contracted staff of the Department for Health and Wellbeing, Local Health Networks (including state-wide services aligned with those networks) and SA Ambulance Service.
