Next Friday (May 21), residents of the South-East can show their support for the Voluntary Assisted Dying Bill at a special Candles for Compassion evening.
The Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre Verandah event in Mt Gambier, 5pm to 7pm, is being billed as ‘an evening to remember those who have suffered at their end of life’.
People are encouraged to wear red and “show your support for change in SA”.
Those in attendance will include VAD advocates, MPs Troy Bell and Nick McBride, and Kyam Maher MLC who introduced the latest and 17th VAD Bill to State Parliament.
The Bill passed the State Upper House on May 5 and will now move for debate in the Lower House.
