A cyber celebration for May Day

23 April 2020

May Day, or International Workers Day, is a day with its origins in fighting for an eight-hour work day. Each year, International Workers Day is a time to recognise and celebrate the achievements of workers uniting together to change the rules.

Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) health crisis all South Australian May Day 2020 events have been cancelled.

The ANMF (SA Branch) is encouraging members to acknowledge and celebrate May Day 2020 by joining The SA May Day Collective cyber celebration. You can join in the celebrations by visiting the SA May Day Collective Facebook page from 5pm on 1 May 2020 to share in some online celebrations by uploading pictures and videos of your iso-celebration.

There will also be a special video from Thomas Mayor, author of 'Finding the Heart of the Nation; Journey of the Uluru Statement towards Voice, Treaty and Truth'.

Let's celebrate solidarity in solitary!
