ANMEC announced 2019 SA Training Provider of the Year

11 September

Your union’s very own registered training provider ANMEC has taken out the top honour at this year’s SA Training Awards.

ANMEC was announced winner of the prestigious ‘SA Training Provider of the Year’ award category at a gala presentation dinner on Friday 6 September hosted by the Training and Skills Commission.

The SA Training Awards are the State’s peak awards for Vocational Education and Training, recognising quality, excellence and innovation in training.

Upon accepting the top honour, ANMF (SA Branch) CEO/Secretary Adj Associate Professor Elizabeth Dabars AM spoke of the importance of creating an industry-affiliated learning centre to further enhance nursing and midwifery, and the health of our State.

“As a proud and active union, we know industry relevance and industry knowledge is critical for our students and for the businesses in which they will work and with who we engage in our other work on behalf of members,” Ms Dabars said to a packed Adelaide Convention Centre audience.

“Our values influence our desire to contribute to the social and economic welfare of our community, to build the skills and capacity of our members and students, their social inclusion and wellbeing.”

Ms Dabars thanked ANMF (SA Branch) and ANMEC staff and other important stakeholders for their role in ANMEC’s award success.

“Thanks to our industry partners, our school-based partners, our funders and our advisors and mentors. And last but not least…thanks to our current and former students who have gone on to forge long-lasting careers in aged care, nursing and midwifery…This is for you.”

The ANMF (SA Branch) and ANMEC wish to congratulate other SA Training Award category winners and is looking forward to the National Training Awards presentation in Queensland in November.
