EPAS Reference Committee last week received an update from the independent expert group charged with reviewing the system.
The group has held extensive consultations with nurses, doctors and other system users to evaluate its effectiveness and propose a way forward to the State Government.
They presented to the Committee different options going forward which could include continuing the implementation of the PAS and clinical modules and going to the market for supplementary modules, i.e. billing.
The expert group recognised that, if parts of the current system continue to be rolled out, there will need to be improvements to configuration so that the system is more intuitive and that issues around hardware are resolved.
The expert panel is still receiving submissions and will finalise their recommendations in a report due to the Government by 30 November.
