Member exclusive first aid course

Course Description:
This course covers:

  • the principles of first aid;
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • basic life support and incorporates the following units of competency

HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support
HLTAID003 Provide first aid

Entry Requirements:
ANMF (SA Branch) members and their family members

Delivery:
Delivery is via online, self-directed learning with a 1-day practical session including practical assessment.

Length of Course:
Dependent on participant – up to 2 weeks for completion of both online component and practical session

Manual Handling Mentor Training – 2 day workshop

Course Description:
This course covers the principles of “No lift no injury” manual handling techniques and is designed to give participants the confidence to become Manual Handling mentors within their work place, or an opportunity to enhance existing skills using best practice methods and following WHS guidelines and National Standards.

The Australian Hazardous Manual Tasks Code of Practice 2016 was used a reference document in development of the course.

The course incorporates 2 nationally accredited units of competency:

  • HLTWHS005 Conduct manual tasks safely
  • BSBFLM312 Contribute to team effectiveness

Entry Requirements:
Applicants must hold a manual handling certificate obtained within the last 2 years

Delivery:
Delivery is via on-line, self-directed learning with a 2-day workshop to consolidate achievements and demonstrate skills in manual handling techniques, presenting and monitoring. It is suggested that participants have a minimum of 4 weeks prior to the 2-day workshop to complete the online learning and assessments.

Length of Course:
Dependent on participant – up to 2 weeks for completion of both online component and practical session

Assessment:
An online quiz, written assessments, practical assessment of manual handling techniques, participant presentations and evaluations.

Fees:
$350 for ANMF (SA Branch) members
