Liberals promise $16 million in extending community palliative care

Categories: General News

A Marshall Liberal Government will invest $16 million in extending community outreach palliative care to a 24-hour, seven days a week service as the first step in a strategy to more effectively support people in the final stages of their life.

In making the announcement yesterday, the Liberals committed to first undertaking a statewide assessment of unmet need for palliative care and establishing a statewide clinical network for palliative care with the urgent task to co-design and deliver a new Palliative Care Services Plan.

ANMF (SA Branch) welcomes the opposition’s commitment to bolstering palliative care to help people get the best end-of-life care in their homes.
