Leading the push for a better state of health

Categories: In Touch

The March 2018 state election may still be seven months away, but now is the time for us to lobby the political parties and influence their policy responses on issues relevant to nursing and midwifery.

ANMF (SA Branch) last month released its Position Statement for the South Australian Parliamentary Election 2018 to the major parties, calling on them to do the same – in the interest of the nursing and midwifery professions and promoting health policies that support the South Australian community.

Next month’s Annual Professional Conference will provide the perfect forum for the political parties to outline their health policy commitments and, of course, debate those put forward by their rivals.

Labor MP Premier’ Jay Weatherill; Liberal Shadow Minister for Health and Wellbeing MLC Stephen Wage and Greens MLC Tammy Franks will join us for the ‘Politicians on the Couch – 2018 State Election Platform’ debate on Thursday 3 August. Seats are selling fast. Don’t miss out.
