Graduate nurse attracts community nomination for dedication to rural health

Please join us in congratulating 25-year-old Port Pirie member Stephen Fantinel, who has been nominated for the Rural Doctors Workforce Agency Rural Health Awards.

The graduate Registered Nurse at the Port Pirie Regional Health Service has been nominated for the award by his colleagues and the wider community for his efforts and dedication to rural health.

Stephen started his graduate program in Port Pirie last year, deciding that working in a regional area would equip him with more experience and training in medical wards, surgical wards, theatre and accident and emergency than a city-based role could deliver.

If his nomination is successful, Stephen will find out his award status at a ceremony in May.
