To ensure the ongoing sustainability of the NDSS, the Department of Health (the Department) has undertaken a review of products subsidised under the NDSS. This included blood glucose test strips, insulin syringes and urine ketone test strips
From 1 December 2018, changes have been made to some insulin syringes and blood glucose test strips available through the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS). These changes affect only five per cent of people.
For specific details on the changes, tailored to health professionals, please view the fact sheet on the NDSS changes that are now in effect.
