Clinical Knowledge/Skills Update Session
CPD 6 hours

This session incorporates a review of the Professional Standards of Nursing and Midwifery practice including the audit process with sessions designed for nurses and midwives who would like to review and update their basic clinical knowledge and skills.

The session includes a review of vital signs and administering medication, including IV fluids and drug calculations, a discussion of the signs and symptoms of the deteriorating patient and a BLS refresher.

It is recommended that non-practising Nurses/midwives or nurses/midwives who have not practised for over 12 months and wish to update their skills attend each of the individual 3-hour sessions offered on the above topics

Child Safe Environment – Through their eyes
CPD 6 hours

This session includes definitions and indicators, responding to the child and deciding when to report.  This is a new course designed by the Department of Education and It is suitable for nurses, midwives and PCW’s who have not completed the Child Safe Environments mandatory training.

Medication Administration Update and Drug Calculations
CPD 4 hours

This session covers the responsibilities of nurses in medication management and administration, including legislation requirements, legal implications and scope of practice and Standards of Practice.

The session also includes both a medication calculation test and a medication test.
