Professor Anne Marie Rafferty

Professor Rafferty CBE is a British nurse, academic and researcher.
She holds a Bachelor of Science (Nursing Studies) from Edinburgh University; a Master of Philosophy (Surgery) from the University of Nottingham and a Doctor of Philosophy (Modern History) from the University of Oxford.
She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing, Queen’s Nursing Institute and Honorary Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
In addition, Professor Rafferty was made Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2009 New Year’s Honours.
Professor Rafferty’s research interests include workforce research and policy; quality of work environment; nurse and patient outcomes; nursing history, international and colonial nursing; research and health policy and capacity building initiatives in health.
