Keep these important dates in your diary:
Midwives’ Day 5 May 2017
Nurses’ Day 12 May 2017
International Nurses’ and Midwives’ Day is celebrated all around the world every year on 5 and 12 May in recognition of the outstanding contribution that nurses and midwives make to their local communities. We would like to thank all nurses, midwives and personal care assistants for the important work they do.
‘Why I love my job’
We’re encouraging nurses, midwives and personal care assistants to fill out your own versions of the cards from the downloadable pdfs below and to tell us why you love your job. We want to share your comments on our website and social media pages to highlight the great job you do every day.
You can download the ‘why I love my job’ card to print and give out to other work colleagues, inviting them to join in.
How to join our photo gallery
- Fill in the card in no more than 8 words explaining why you love being a nurse, midwife or working in aged care using a thick marker pen
- Ask a workmate to take a close up *photo of you holding the card and send it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org or upload it on the form below.
Don’t forget to add the hashtag #INMD2017 if you want to post them yourself on your own social media channels.
- All photos received will be added to our photo gallery on the ANMF (SA Branch) website and to our Facebook and Instagram pages during the week of celebrations with the hashtag #INMWD2017

Nurses and Midwives Day – documents
This is a great way for you to engage with the public and other nurses, midwives and care assistants. It is a bit of fun but also an opportunity for us to celebrate our professions from 5-12 May 2017.
