Registered Nurses needed for national care survey

17 September 2020

Registered Nurses are being invited to take part in an important survey which aims to help improve the health care outcomes for people with Intellectual Disability (ID) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Currently, there is very little known about the workforce profile and education of nurses addressing the needs of people with ID/ASD in hospital and community health care settings. Additionally, we don’t know much about the self-perceived education, preparedness, comfort, and confidence of nurses caring for these people.

Your pivotal feedback will help researchers to learn more about Registered Nurses’ educational and clinical experiences working with people with ID/ASD. Such information can help inform education and training content in this area, and subsequently improve the health outcomes of patients with ID/ASD.

The survey is being undertaken by the ANMF, ACCCN, APNA, CENA and PANDDA in conjunction with Southern Cross University and the University of Sydney.

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

You have a choice to take part in this study and can withdraw consent to participate at any time.

This research has been approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee at Southern Cross University.
