New digital health capability framework for nurses and midwives

24 February 2020

Australian nursing and midwifery organisations are collaborating to create a capability framework to support nurses and midwives in the digital workplace. The draft National Nursing and Midwifery Digital Health Capability Framework, is a collaboration between HISA, the Australian Digital Health Agency and nursing and midwifery professional bodies.

Nurses and midwives across Australia are being consulted on;
the digital health skills they need.
what is practical and relevant for them as nurses and midwives,
how a draft digital health capability framework could be used in hospitals and health services as a professional development guide for nursing and midwifery in the digital world.

Have your say! How to take part in the consultation
Survey consultation closes 13 March.

Consultation will include an online survey, webinars, face-to-face consultations, and the ability to provide written submissions.

This consultation is critical for identifying the specific skills nurses and midwives need for them to maximise the benefits for their patients from Australia’s digital health system.

South Australian nurses and midwives are encouraged to complete the online survey and join a webinar this week.

Your feedback will be used to develop resources to professionally support nurses and midwives to deliver the best patient care in the rapidly evolving #digitalhealth environment.

The framework will be launched at the global nursing congress NI2020 in Brisbane 27-29 July 2020.
