Following a major incident in 2019, ANMF has been working with members and management at the Lyell McEwin Hospital to increase safety measures within the Emergency Department.
The incident review revealed that not all nursing staff had access to duress pendants.
After continued advocacy on behalf of members, a further 37 duress pendants have been ordered for the Emergency Department, ensuring there is 1 pendant for every staff member on shift (including double staff time).
Thanks to our members and Worksite Representatives working in this area, who fought hard to ensure all staff are protected within the Emergency Department.
