Understanding The New Charter Of Aged Care Rights

30 May 2019

The Australian Government is introducing a new and simpler Charter of Aged Care Rights. The Charter places the consumer at the centre of care by giving them choice and recognising their right to be treated with respect. Consumer responsibilities have also been revised; these changes will provide protection for the aged care workforce.

What does the new Charter mean for the aged care workforce? How will you prepare for its implementation?

From 1 July, aged care service providers (which may include case managers and frontline workers) will be required to assist consumers to understand the Charter and invite them to sign it. To understand what the new Charter means for you, the Older Persons Advocacy Network is hosting the following educational webinars.
