Tell the Marshall Liberal Government we need affordable and safe car parking for ALL staff, patients and visitors to SA Public Hospitals

20 December 2019

The Marshall Liberal Government will increase the cost of car parking at Adelaide’s public hospitals by around 20 per cent in 2020. This action breaks their 2018 election promise to “ensure affordable car parking fees apply at all South Australian public hospitals”.

BROKEN ELECTION PROMISES

In February 2018 then Shadow Minister for Health Stephen Wade stated,

“The cost of car parking at Adelaide’s metropolitan hospitals is a significant financial burden on many patients, carers and relatives at what is often a very difficult time in people’s lives,”

“The high cost of car parking at our hospitals adds unnecessary stress to a stressful situation.”

LACK OF AFFORDABLE CAR PARKING OPTIONS POSE A SAFETY RISK TO STAFF AND PATIENTS

The cost increase means car parking options onsite at many hospitals and health care facilities continue to pose a significant safety risk for nurses and midwives, as well as patients and their families.
