24 July 2019
The ANMF (SA Branch) held a further meeting with State Government/SA Health representatives on Tuesday 23 July.
Again, discussions centred on the ANMF’s proposed shift allocation staffing model. Whilst your employer noted some concerns with the adoption of this model, we remain positive that, with good will, a resolution can be achieved.
Another topic of consideration was workforce planning and the importance of increasing the number of graduate placements and supporting them as they develop in their professional practice. The ANMF are seeking a commitment from SA Health that over the life of the Agreement they will continue to grow the number of graduates, as well as maximise the opportunity for graduates to source permanent employment at the end of their program.
The ANMF has commenced formal consultation with members about your employer’s claim to reduce the duration of the night shift (from 10 to 9.5hours). ANMF Professional Liaison Officers will be working with members over the coming two weeks in order to ensure that all members have an opportunity to provide feedback and voice their concerns with the proposal. Your feedback will then be presented to the State Government/SA Health representatives at the next meeting on 6 August 2019.
We have already indicated that there has been widespread and consistent opposition and concerns expressed by members about these proposals.
