Year of the Nurse and Midwife 2020

The year 2020 marks the first time the World Health Organisation has dedicated a year to a profession - and that is because nursing and midwifery are not just any professions.

The impact of modern nursing and midwifery on improving health care dates  hundreds of years. One of the most famous nursing pioneers is Florence Nightingale, whose 200th birth anniversary is also being celebrated in 2020.

At the ANMF (SA Branch), we’ll be bringing the global celebrations closer to home through a host of events and activities to recognise and promote the role South Australian nurses and midwives can and do play in improving health care quality, access and efficiencies in our community.

Watch this space as we provide updates about events, activities and resources happening in throughout the year.
