The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) (SA Branch) is the principal professional and industrial organisation representing more than 21,000 nurses, midwives and personal care workers across South Australia. The ANMF (SA Branch) has been both a progressive industry body and the leading voice for the nursing and midwifery workforce for more than a century, working together to negotiate positive outcomes at a local, state and federal level. Union Legal SA is the in-house legal firm for the ANMF (SA Branch), providing members with professional legal advice.
About the Role
We are seeking applications from exceptional candidates for the part-time, fixed term role of Solicitor working in Union Legal SA. The position will be for a fixed term period of approximately 10 months. The role is responsible for the provision of high-quality legal services for ANMFSA members primarily in relation to Workers Compensation matters.
About You
To be successful in the role you will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Law
- An appropriate practising certificate and be admitted to practise law in Australia
- At least 2 years post admission experience in Workers Compensation
- Demonstrated skills in advocacy, negotiation, problem solving and both written and verbal communication
- Sound time management skills and the ability to organise and manage own work
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team and be self-directed within that environment
- A current driver’s licence
- A current DCSI Clearance Certificate.
