Course Overview

ANMEC is working with leading providers in a variety of health care settings in Allied Health to deliver a contemporary course responding to the needs of industry.

The training enables you to work alongside allied health workers, implementing treatment plans and therapeutic solutions in a wide variety of health care settings.

Course Duration

2 semesters. Plus 2 orientation sessions held at the end of Term 4 2023.

Time: 9.00am - 4.00pm or shift on placement

Structured Work Placement

Students undertake a minimum of 120 hours of work placement. At ANMEC, these are conducted in 1 or 2 week blocks during school holidays.

Funding Criteria
  • Must be turning 16 in the year of study
  • Australian Citizen, permanent resident or eligible VISA holder
  • Must not have exhausted personal allocation of government funding
Subsidised Training

The Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance is subsidised under the Government of South Australia's Subsidised Training initiative and is available for eligible students.

Course Cost

Pre-Course Experiences/Pre-requisites
No pre-requisites to study this qualification, however suitable students:
  • In year 11 or 12
  • Must be turning at least 16 in the year of study
  • Have a passion for being part of the Health Service Industry
  • Attended 2 orientation sessions in Term 4 2023
Course Requirements
  • An appointment with the VET Coordinator or Counsellor in your school is required to enrol in this course
  • National Police Clearance (National Crime Check) and relevant DHS Clearances (at students own expense)

This qualification reflects the role of allied health assistants in residential aged care, home & community, disability & the acute care workforce who follow an individualised plan to provide therapeutic support to people.

This course delivered by health care leaders, will ensure that you receive current industry knowledge & skills to prepare you for the role of an allied health assistant in the health care sector.

You will experience first hand the practical teaching of skills & knowledge required to be successful in your chosen health care career & feel confident on placement to practice these skills when providing care.


Course completion requirements:

  • HLT33021 Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance
    • 13 units must be completed - 7 core and 6 elective units
    • Students must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency
